Panasonic has officially announced the LUMIX G Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 ASPH for M43 mount.
The new lens has 9 elements in 7 groups with 3 aspherical lenses and gives a 30 mm equivalent field of view on Panasonic and Olympus m43 cameras.
The 15mm features Panasonic’s Nano Surface Coating technology to minimize ghosting and flare.
The press release claims faster focusing with a new stepping motor.
The LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15mm / F1.7 ASPH. is metal cased and has an aperture ring [always a good idea]. There’s also an AF/MF switch.
These features should make it a pretty good street photography lens for Panasonic or Olympus owners.
The new lens will be arriving early June, in black and silver and will also be available with the LUMIX DMC-GM1 body in a new kit (DMC-GM1L)
If you want to get your hands on one as soon as it’s available, pre-order the Panasonic LEICA DG SUMMILUX 15mm/F1.7 ASPH on Amazon now.
